Weddings

The preparation for a wedding is one of the most exciting and challenging times in the life of a couple. At University Presbyterian Church, we consider it a privilege to be a part of those preparations and hope to provide the information, guidance, and support to make your experience of this important time filled with joy and grace.

It is our understanding that everything leading up to the wedding ceremony is a part of the sovereign reign of God and that the ceremony itself is an opportunity for worship. We find, within the constitution of our church, references to the theological background for our understanding of the wedding. Some of those references are contained in italics within the attached wedding handbook.
