College Connector Program: A Home Away from Home

For LSU students, we offer our College Connector Program, designed to create a supportive and welcoming environment during your time at university. Through this program, we pair students with a caring UPC member who serves as your “home away from home.” Your College Connector can provide:

• Practical Support: Access to laundry facilities, a cozy space to relax, or even a home-cooked meal.

• Fun and Fellowship: Opportunities to play with pets, join for dinners, attend local events, or simply hang out with a supportive church family.

• Mentorship and Guidance: A friendly face to answer questions, offer encouragement, and help you navigate life in Baton Rouge.

Opportunities for the LSU Community

At UPC, we offer a variety of ways for LSU students, faculty, and staff to engage with our church:

• Worship Services: Join us for inspiring worship on Sundays at 11:00 a.m. (fall and spring) or 10:00 a.m. (summer), in person or streamed live on our Facebook page. Our services feature meaningful sermons, diverse music led by our Adult Choir or soloists, and a warm, inclusive atmosphere.

• College Bible Study and Fellowship: Participate in our college-focused Bible studies and social events, held regularly to help students connect, explore faith, and build friendships. Check our College Ministry page for upcoming events.

• Service and Outreach: Get involved in service projects that make a difference, from local community initiatives to partnerships with LSU organizations. Serve alongside our congregation to live out your faith in meaningful ways.

• Music and Arts: LSU students with musical talents are welcome to join our Adult Choir (rehearsals Wednesdays, 7:00–8:30 p.m. in the Choir Room) or contribute as soloists or instrumentalists during worship.

• Faculty and Staff Engagement: Faculty and staff are invited to join our ministries, lead small groups, or connect through our Welcome Center coffee hours after worship.

Our facilities feature a handicap-accessible ramp on the side of the sanctuary and behind the church, an elevator to access all floors, and designated handicap parking on all sides.
